Uveitic cataract surgery is associated with an increased risk of capsular rupture, vitreous loss, crystalline lens dislocation, cystoid macular, corneal edema, and intraocular lens-induced complications. An understanding of the anatomy, risks, surgical option, and most importantly intraoperative and preoperative management of the underlying uveitis can reduce the chance of complications and provide outcomes mutually satisfactory to patient and ophthalmologist alike.
